Wolverhampton Wanderers Loan Fábio Silva to UD Las Palmas for Fourth Time

The Portuguese striker has struggled to make an impact at Molineux since his record-breaking move from Porto in 2020

Silva has been sent on loan to Las Palmas in the Spanish Segunda División until the end of the season

Wolverhampton Wanderers have sent Fábio Silva on loan to UD Las Palmas for the fourth time, the Championship club announced on Thursday.

The 20-year-old striker has failed to live up to expectations at Molineux since joining from Porto for a club-record fee of £35 million in September 2020.

Silva has scored just four goals in 51 appearances for Wolves and has been sent out on loan to Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Fulham in recent seasons.

  • Silva is a highly-rated young striker who has represented Portugal at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.
  • He was the top scorer in the 2018–19 UEFA Youth League, scoring eight goals in eight games.
  • Silva made his senior debut for Porto in August 2019 and scored his first goal for the club in a 5–0 win over Vitória de Setúbal in September 2019.

He will now spend the rest of the season on loan at Las Palmas, who are currently 12th in the Spanish Segunda División.

Silva will be hoping to get his career back on track at Las Palmas and prove that he can still be a valuable asset for Wolves.
