Prioritization Rule Dictates Decision

Chicago Sky Forward Gabby Williams Withdraws from Next WNBA Season

Prioritization Rule Dictates Decision

Sky's 2018 Fourth Overall Draft Pick Plans Return in 2025

Chicago Sky forward Gabrielle Lisa Williams has announced that she will not participate in the upcoming 2023 WNBA season due to the league's prioritization rule.

Williams, who was drafted fourth overall by the Sky in 2018 out of UConn, led the team in steals per game with 1.6 and ranked No. 13 overall in the league. As a top French player leading up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Williams has been navigating international commitments that conflict with the WNBA schedule.

Despite her absence next season, Williams remains committed to her long-term future with the Sky and plans to return in 2025. She has also expressed interest in continuing her international career with France, including representing the team at the upcoming Olympics on home soil.
