Italian Star Set To Make Comeback After Injury
D'Amato, the 2022 European all-around champion, will make her return to competition at the Cottbus World Cup in Germany from 23-26 February.
The 19-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in April 2022, which ruled her out of the World Championships and the European Championships. She also missed the Italian Championships in November.
D'Amato has been training hard in recent months and is now ready to make her comeback. She will compete in the all-around competition in Cottbus.
D'Amato is one of Italy's most promising gymnasts. She won the all-around gold medal at the 2022 European Championships and was a member of the Italian team that won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Her return to competition is a major boost for the Italian team. D'Amato is a key member of the team and her experience and leadership will be invaluable in the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
