French Open Swiatek Storms To Third Title

French Open: Swiatek Storms to Third Title

Poland's Iga Świątek has claimed her third French Open crown, solidifying her dominance on clay.

In a thrilling final on Saturday, Świątek overpowered the unseeded Karolína Muchová of the Czech Republic, prevailing in three sets with a score of 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.

The victory marks Świątek's third consecutive French Open triumph, following her previous victories in 2020 and 2021. She becomes the first woman to achieve this feat since Justine Henin in 2007.

Świątek's latest triumph further cements her status as one of the most dominant players on the WTA Tour. The 21-year-old has now won six of the last eight Grand Slam titles, including the past two US Opens and the 2022 Australian Open.

Her victory in Paris is a testament to her exceptional clay-court skills. Świątek is the first player since Serena Williams to win three consecutive French Open titles. She is also the first Polish woman to win a Grand Slam tournament.
