A San Diego man accused of stealing guns and other items during a string of 455 burglaries was behind bars Wednesday, authorities said.
Luis Enrique Bravo Jr., 29, was arrested Monday in the Oak Park neighborhood, the San Diego Police Department reported. He was booked into county jail on suspicion of 455 counts of residential burglary and multiple counts of grand theft, possession of stolen property and possession of drugs.
Bravo has a criminal record that includes several theft-related convictions, according to court records.
Police investigators said Bravo targeted homes in 11 jurisdictions throughout the county between June and October of last year.
The defendant is accused of stealing jewelry, electronics, identification documents and firearms, police said. Authorities found evidence that at least 10 of the stolen firearms were sold on the black market.
Bravo was arrested after police conducted surveillance on his home and followed him as he drove away in a pickup truck, police said.
Investigators stopped the truck and found stolen items inside, according to police. A search of the defendant's home turned up more stolen property, including guns.
Bravo has been ordered held on $2 million bail.
The case remains under investigation, police said.
