Deadly Tennessee Tornado Stayed on the Ground for 60 Miles

At Least Three Dead, Dozens Injured

A deadly tornado swept through Tennessee on Saturday, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The storm, which stayed on the ground for 60 miles, killed at least three people and injured dozens more.

The tornado touched down in Obion County around 1:30 p.m. CDT and traveled northeast across the state, before lifting near the Kentucky border. Along its path, the tornado damaged or destroyed homes, businesses, and other structures. Power lines were downed, leaving thousands of people without electricity.

Emergency crews are still working to assess the damage and search for survivors. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of the state, as more storms are possible.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
