The Australian Tax Office (ATO) has released the country's 100 largest Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) and Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) debts through a Freedom of Information request.
On Wednesday, the ATO unveiled the top 100 students with the highest debts, disclosing that the nation's most indebted student owes a staggering amount.
Policy Backdating
The policy will be backdated to June 1, 2023, meaning last year's 71 percent indexation will be lowered to the Wage Price Index (WPI) of 32 percent.
The ATO also revealed that one mystery student holds the largest higher education loan balance in the country.
