How to Change Wi-Fi Priority Settings on Your iPhone or iPad
Step-by-Step Guide
If you have multiple Wi-Fi networks within range, your iPhone or iPad will automatically connect to the one with the strongest signal. However, you can change the priority settings to connect to a specific network even if it has a weaker signal.
Steps
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Scroll down and tap on "Wi-Fi."
- Your device will search for available Wi-Fi networks and display them in a list.
- Tap on the network you want to change the priority for.
- Under the "Auto-Join" section, tap on "Ask to Join" or "Auto-Join."
- If you select "Ask to Join," your device will ask you to confirm before joining the network.
- If you select "Auto-Join," your device will automatically join the network without asking for confirmation.
Additional Information
You can also change the priority of a Wi-Fi network by dragging and dropping the networks in the list. The network at the top of the list will have the highest priority.
If you are experiencing problems connecting to a Wi-Fi network, try changing the priority settings. This may help your device to connect to the network more consistently.
