Warriors' Playoff Hopes Fade as They Fall to Kings
Warriors eliminated from playoff contention after loss to Kings
Golden State's ambitious goal of reaching the Western Conference's No. 6 seed officially ended Wednesday night when they fell to the Phoenix Suns 134-105.
The Western Conference is once again a powerhouse, and the Warriors have not been able to keep up. The team's loss to the Kings was their fifth straight defeat, and they are now 3-16 in their last 19 games.
The Warriors' struggles have been well-documented. They have been plagued by injuries all season long, and they have not been able to find any consistency on either end of the court. Stephen Curry has been brilliant at times, but he has also been inconsistent, and the rest of the team has not been able to pick up the slack.
The Warriors' playoff hopes were officially dashed with their loss to the Suns. They are now 29-46 on the season, and they are 10 games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. With only seven games remaining in the regular season, the Warriors would need to win out and have the Grizzlies lose all of their remaining games in order to qualify for the playoffs.
The Warriors' season has been a disappointment, but they have a lot of young talent on their roster. They will need to make some changes in the offseason, but they have the potential to be a contender again in the future.
