Congressgov is pleased to announce the release of its public application programming interface (API), providing Congress and the public with access to a vast array of machine-readable data from Congressgov collections.

API Functionality
The Congressgov API enables users to view, retrieve, and reuse data from Congressgov collections, including:
- Bills
- Amendments
- Summaries
- Congress members
- Congressional Record
- Committee reports
- Nominations
- Treaties
- House Communications
Library of Congress APIs
In addition to the Congressgov API, the Library of Congress also offers three APIs:
- locgov API: Provides structured data about Library of Congress collections
- Congress API: Retrieves legislative data from the House of Representatives, Senate, and Library of Congress
- NYT API: Originated at The New York Times in 2009 and provides access to news, articles, and data
