Luxury Boat Removed from Delray Beach
Stranded Yacht Freed After Two Days
Delray Beach, Florida - February 23, 2023
A multi-million dollar yacht that had been stranded on Delray Beach since Friday has been successfully removed from the sand. The 92-foot vessel, estimated to be worth $15 million, lost power and washed ashore two days ago.
The boat, which is registered in Florida, was spotted by beachgoers early Friday morning. It had been beached just south of the Delray Beach Municipal Beach. Attempts to tow the boat back into the water were unsuccessful until Saturday afternoon. The arrival of high tide and a larger towboat finally freed the vessel from the beach.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, no one was injured during the incident. The cause of the power loss is under investigation.
The boat was towed back to its home port in Boynton Beach, where it is undergoing repairs. It is not yet known when it will be able to return to the water.
